Battle was a nodal point in 1940.
Description: Description: Excavation on private land at Battle of elements of the anti-invasion defences of 1940. A series of concrete anti-tank obstacles (known as dragon's teeth) were cleared of vegetation.
Investigation guided by wartime plans found in the archives lead to the discovery and subsequent excavation of a circular pillbox foundation. Remnants of camouflage paint were found on the exterior wall.
